Who would have thought groundworks to site a new public loo would uncover a 7-11th C Anglo Scandanavian graveyard - just behind the Old Police House, which was the set for Ashfordly Gazette in Heartbeat.
The current Town Hall was probably built on the site of Masham’s first Christian Church.
