Marfield Wetlands Nature Reserve

Marfield Wetlands Nature Reserve

Stunning lakes, and diverse wildlife in a tranquil nature reserve, perfect for scenic walks and birdwatching.

Marfield Wetlands is situated on the outskirts of Masham. A former sand and gravel pit, now with lakes, ponds and surrounding fen, wet grassland and woods. Just a short walk from the centre of Masham, Marfield Wetlands are designated as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) and located adjacent to Marfield Fen SSSI and the River Ure corridor. There’s something of interest all year round, but particularly in winter for visiting wildfowl.

Beautiful walks and viewing hides around the site. Can be combined with a walk down the riverside to get back into Masham. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.

Parking available at both ends of the site.
