Newby Hall and Gardens

Historic 18th-century house with stunning gardens and lots to entertain young families.

Newby Hall and Gardens is less than half an hour from Masham and is an exceptional example of 18th century interior decoration. Built in the 1690s by Sir Christopher Wren, the house is now open to visitors by booking a guided tour.

Outside, the award-winning gardens, which were mainly created in the 1920s, are stunning. An exciting Adventure Garden has been designed for children of all ages. There is the water play area (bring a towel and change of clothes!), sandpit and swings for toddlers, and climbing frames and bridges, a zip line and pedalo boats for the older children.
